KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / CHALLENGES:
* Maintain adequate liquidity at all times, to ensure the Bank can meet all commitments.
* Day-to-day responsibility for ensuring all payments are made through the local payments system.
* Disseminate and synthesize economic research with a view to formulating appropriate liquidity and balance sheet strategies.
* Monitor all relevant market and liquidity risk reports. Act to maintain positions within limits.
* Understand and Monitor all relevant Central Bank regulations and act to maintain position within the regulations.
* Monitor daily PNL. Own the PNL and be responsible for explaining any changes in accrual run rate.
* Daily cash management and squaring of money market books.
* Act as a Backup for other money market traders.
* Act as a price maker for the various sales and derivatives desks internally.
* Establish and maintain external relationships with interbanks counterparties and money brokers.
* Establish and maintain internal relationships with GM Trading and sales desks.
* Full understanding of the local Business Continuity Plan.
* Ensure full adherence to all Compliance Risk Management.- Responsible for undertaking the business monitoring and testing and reporting findings, exceptions and results from such monitoring / testing activities.
* Ensure money laundering prevention requirements and procedures are communicated to unit staff in Global Markets.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
* Highly numerate.
* Min 7 years of working experience in related field.
* Understanding of Economics and Finance at a graduate level.
* Experience of Fixed Income and Money Markets (operations and instruments).
* Must possess a good understanding of risk and reward strategies.
* Ability to act decisively, sometimes without full knowledge.
* Ability to communicate ideas clearly (written and orally).
* Ability to articulate market views and translate into trading strategies.
